After a 37-point win over Rajasthan Royals, Lockie Ferguson of Gujarat Titans praised rival batter Jos Buttler and called him one of the best in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Skipper Hardik Pandya’s undefeated half-century was bolstered by a spirited performance from bowlers as Gujarat Titans defeated Rajasthan Royals by 37 runs in their IPL match at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy on Thursday.
“As he was hitting you can’t do much when a guy hits that well. And then he shot my first ball so I had to change something, luckily I got a little drift, sure happy to see the back of him It came out nice, happy to see the stumps light up. During the IPL, thousands of hitters can reach the top of the game just like him, but he is definitely on top and one of the best. When a man hits like this, you can don’t do much. You have to get into defensive mode,” Ferguson said in a post-match presentation.
“The way Yash bowled up front I actually thought he bowled pretty well but you just saw Jos’ class there. It was nice to see the back of him for sure. You couldn’t get him (Hardik Pandya) out of the match tonight. As soon as he came back on the pitch, a run-out, he played a great game and led the boys so well. We love the energy he brings every game, it’s been fantastic,” he added.
The pacemaker also praised spinner Rashid Khan for consistently good bowling and creating pressure on the batters.

“We have a lot of experience. Rashid Khan has been bowling so consistently well for such a long time. He creates the pressure for the rest of us to take the wickets from the other side. The wickets don’t always do that” come to him, but it’s unbelievable how well he bowls. It’s great to have him on our side. (On the pitch) Good pace, definitely happier with this wicket than a few nights ago,” said the pacer.
“There’s good pace in all wickets so far in the tournament. We’ve managed to get a bit of a seam out of the wicket. Mo (Shami) at the top is getting a bit of swing, which is nice. Going so far It’s good. Tewatia hasn’t bowled much, I’m sure he will play a part as we go through the match,” he added.
