Wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant of Star India took to Twitter on Monday to thank his fans and well-wishers for their wishes as he continues to recover from a horrific car crash he met in late December last year. Pant also thanked the Board of Control for Cricket in India, his secretary Jay Shah and the government agencies, in addition to the team of doctors and physiotherapists, who have been instrumental in helping him after his accident. This is Pant’s first social media post since the car crash.
“I am humbled and grateful for all the support and well wishes. I am pleased to let you know that my surgery was a success. The road to recovery has begun and I am ready for the challenges ahead. Thank you @BCCI, @JayShah and government agencies for their incredible support,” Pant wrote on Twitter.
“From the bottom of my heart I also want to thank all my fans, teammates, doctors and physios for your kind words and encouragement. I look forward to seeing you all on the pitch,” he added.

Star India’s wicket-keeper Pant, who was injured in a horrific car accident last month, will most likely be out of action for most of 2023, according to a report from ESPNcricinfo. According to the report, the latest medical update given to the BCCI on the player says the impact of the car accident tore all three major ligaments in Pant’s knee, two of which were recently reconstructed, while surgery on the third after six weeks is expected. .
The report further added that the cricketer may be out for six months, effectively meaning he may be out of the IPL, as he raises questions about his fitness ahead of the ODI World Cup at home in October-November.
