Rishabh Pant plays a cover drive of Mohammed Shami in the tour match vs Leicestershire
Rishabh Pant was the star of the show on Day 2 of India’s touring match against Leicestershire when he produced a brilliant knock on his own teammates. Pant, who played for the county with Cheteshwar Pujara, scored 76 runs from just 87 balls in his signature attacking style. His innings were fraught with 14 limits and a six as he took a huge toll on his teammates.
When he hit at 26, Pant played a beautiful cover drive of Mohammed Shami’s bowling. It was a typical stand-and-lever Pant shot, but his position and execution of the drive were as close to copybook style as possible.

Shami got off to a great start with the ball when India decided to declare the overnight score of 246/8. He sent Captain Sam Evan away before sending Pujara back for a duck. He also cleared opener Louis Kimber for 31.
But Pant had other ideas as he made the bulk of the outing ahead of the all-important rescheduled fifth Test match against England in Edgbaston.
Pant made key partnerships with Joey Evison (22) and Rishi Patel (34) to help Leicestershire break the 200-run mark.
