The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 kicks off on March 26 with defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) taking on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Prior to the high voltage conflict, CSK has been dealt a blow as England all-rounder Moeen Ali will miss the match as he has not yet received his visa. The franchise now hopes that Moeen Ali will be available from the second game.
“He still hasn’t got his visa. We’ve also contacted BCCI. BCCI is also working on it,” franchise CEO Kasi was quoted as saying Viswanathan in an official release from CSK.
“We expect it to be ready in a day or two. This is the situation as of today. I can’t say it will happen today. But we expect it can be solved today,” he added.
The CEO of CSK also stated that it is not known at this time when Moeen Ali will be available. Due to the visa delay, it was confirmed that Moeen would not be available for the match against KKR.
“How many games he will miss depends on when he comes in. Right now he will miss the first game. Even if he comes tomorrow he won’t be able to play the first game. That’s today’s score. He’s packed and Once he gets the visa, he will board the next flight to India,” Viswanathan said.
