Virat Kohli in action for RCB during IPL 2023© BCCI
It has been a chaotic ride for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the ongoing 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) and with two games left, Virat Kohli And Co still has a decent chance of qualifying for the playoffs. With 12 points from 12 matches, RCB are fifth in the table and a win against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Thursday will put them as a solid contender for the playoff spots. In their previous game, RCB completely defeated Rajasthan Royals with the bowlers playing a major role.
With two games left, RCB has a chance to get the coveted 16 points if they can beat SRH and defending champion Gujarat Titans. The two wins should be enough to qualify for them after Punjab Kings was beaten by Delhi Capitals in a hard-fought match.
Right now the only competition they face is the Mumbai Indians who can finish on 16 points but RCB has a slight advantage as they currently have a superior net run rate.
However, a loss in the last two games will put RCB in a lot of trouble. Virat Kohli And Co will only be able to get 14 points in that scenario and it will enable Rajasthan Royals, Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders to keep their dreams alive. In that case, the net run rate is the final decision maker.
As a result, a win against the bottom seeded SRH is extremely important to maintain momentum and also maintain the net run rate which could prove to be crucial for their future.
