Bartholomew Ogbeche scored a brace on both sides of half-time when Hyderabad FC recorded an emphatic 6-1 win over Odisha FC in the Indian Super League on Tuesday. Ogbeche scored in the 39th and 60th minutes after Hector Rodas turned one into his own net in the 9th minute to give Hyderabad an early lead. Edu Garcia (54th), Javier Siverio (72nd) and Joao Victor (86P) came on the scoresheet for Hyderabad in a stunning second half. For Odisha, Juanan scored an own goal in the 16th minute to make it 1-1, but after that it was a one-way street until the final whistle.
The result means that Hyderabad remains second in the points tally with 15 points from eight games, while Odisha is seventh with 10 points from eight games. Ogbeche is now the top scorer with eight goals to his name.
The match got off to an eventful start as Hyderabad FC took the lead in the ninth minute. Edu Garcia swung in a glorious free kick at the nearest post, while Joao Victor cut the ball when the ball was deflected by Hector Rodas and went in.
Hyderabad’s joy was short-lived when Odisha equalized. It was almost a repeat of Hyderabad’s opener as Javier Hernandez’s free kick came from a multitude of bodies in the penalty area and writhed in from Juanan’s chest.
Shortly after the goal, Odisha had a golden opportunity to take the lead, but Jonathas Cristian cut his lines from close range after Nandhakumar Sekar put in a mouthwatering cross that went past a diving Chinglensana Singh.
Odisha set the fire with some golden opportunities before Ogbeche made it 2-1 with a thumping header from a cross from Edu Garcia.
Hyderabad led 2-1 at half time, but in the second half they wiped Odisha off their performance with a sparkling performance.
Edu Garcia started the attack with a pirate run, got the better of a defender and fired into the bottom right corner.
On the hour, Odisha made it 4-1 with Ogbeche’s second goal of the evening, as the striker took an agile first touch, then shot a sharp left foot past the keeper and into the bottom corner.

Ogbeche was replaced by Javier Siverio in the 68th minute and the latter found minutes after coming in the back of the net by putting a Juanan ball into the net.
Siverio won a penalty five minutes to full-time after Gaurav Bora knocked him down in the penalty area. Joao Victor got up and shot the ball past the keeper from the spot.
