India B registered a convincing 76-run win over India A in the Duleep Trophy 2024-25 match on Sunday at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Chasing 275, India A were bowled out for 198 in their second innings as left-handed seamer Dayal (3/50), with the ably supported support of his team-mates Mukesh Kumar (2/50) and Navdeep Saini (2/41), led the India B attack. Amid the thrilling encounter, wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, playing for India B, grabbed everyone's attention with his hilarious antics.
In the 41st over of India A's chase, Kuldeep Yadav hit a boundary off the fifth delivery of Sai Kishor's over. Seeing this, Pant, who was standing behind the stumps, asked all the fielders to come closer, as he expected Kuldeep to take a single off the last delivery.
While Pant was making the fielding changes, Kuldeep told him that he would not take a single stroke. On hearing this, Pant hilariously asked him to swear on his mother.
Rishabh Pant – sab aage aao, ye single lega (everyone is getting close, he will take the single).
Kuldeep Yadav – main nahi luga (I won't take the single).
Pants – Maa Kasam khale nahi lega (then take the oath of mother). photo.twitter.com/Pmn6h55qxw

“Main is not long. (I won't take any),” said Kuldeep. But Kasam is no longer valid“, Pant replied.
Talking about the match, in the first session of the day, India B scored 184 all out in their second attempt, giving them a handy lead of 274.
Earlier, after scoring 150 for six the previous day, India B could add only 34 runs to the total before being bowled out.
Pacer Akash, who had scored five consecutive fours the day before under Sarfaraz Khan, found his inspiration to beat Washington Sundar and Saini to take a total of five wickets (5/56).
“My preparation with my father was really good. I had done well in Ranji, so I knew I would get a chance here. Every ball I was encouraging him from the non-striker's end to play it out (his partnership with Saini). I think it was only the first or second time I took catches at short leg,” said batter Musheer Khan, who won the Player of the Match award.
