Marnus Labuschagne has come a long way, from being the world’s first cricket concussion replacement to one of the world’s best test hitters. A journey that has blossomed the cricketer in his own way. Now when a cricket fan comes across Marnus’s name, the images that flash right before the eyes are those of funny ways he releases the ball outside the stump, or his extremely loud and clear calls to the non-striker asking him to to stay in his fold. This unorthodox yet charismatic striking style, although often criticized, was a major reason why it developed into one of the mainstays of today’s Australian Test Unit.
The same kind of reputation has also been transferred to Pakistan, where Australia is touring after 24 years. This is where Marnus has become a fan favorite.
In the first innings, the batter hit his way to an impressive 90 runs in his first-ever innings in Pakistan. He was unlucky to miss a hundred, but he was certainly lucky to get serious public attention.
Marnus was humble enough to share some of the most uniquely styled placards that somewhat resembled his unconventional style of play on the field.

“It was great to see all the signs in the crowd at Rawalpindi made to feel very welcome #AUSvPAK.”
The match ended in a draw as Pakistani openers, Imam-ul-Haq and Shafique, dominated the game on the final day, scoring individual hundreds.
The second Test will be played at the National Stadium in Karachi from March 12.
