Rafael Nadal broke Taylor Fritz himself in the first game and then held on to his serve to cement his lead early in the first set.But Fritz broke back in the sixth game to make it 3-3 and then won three games in a row to win the set. Second seeded Nadal wants to win his third Wimbledon title this year. He has already won the Australian Open and French Open titles this year and wants to add the Wimbledon title to his cat. His last win on the hallowed turf of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club was in the year 2010. The 36-year-old Spaniard played his last 16 clash in the All England Club on Monday against Botic van de Zandschulp strapping his belly. Last month, he won another 14th French Open with his troublesome left foot numb before undergoing career-saving treatment. In-form American Taylor Fritz is in the last eight of a Slam for the first time and hasn’t dropped a set yet. The 24-year-old defeated Nadal in the Indian Wells Masters final earlier this year when the Spaniard suffered a broken rib.

7:49 PM: Fritz holds his serve. That was an order from the American. He must have his first serve if he is to challenge Nadal.
19:53: Fritz has now started covering the track well, but Nadal is just too good now. He makes the most of the full tank of energy he currently has. We haven’t seen Nadal this well in ages and with a powerful smash, the Spaniard easily keeps a 3-1 lead.
7:56 PM: Fritz did a great job there holding a tricky service game. Nadal was looking for another break, but Fritz slammed the door on the Spaniard.
20:03: Rafael Nadal is pushed to the limit in this game. 0-40 down but the Spaniard comes back to equalize.
20:04: As it is Fritz breaks Nadal to restore parity at 3-3
20:10: Fritz is up 4-3 while holding Nadal at bay despite a late strike from the Spaniard in the match. He leads first.
