Tottenham landed a transfer window for the fifth time on Friday, after defender Clement Lenglet was hired from Barcelona. The London club have heavily backed manager Antonio Conte after the Italian secured Champions League football next season.
Lenglet will join Richarlison, Ivan Perisic, Yves Bissouma and Fraser Forster as new faces at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next season.
“We are delighted to announce the signing of Clement Lenglet, on loan from Barcelona for a season,” Tottenham said in a statement.
The France international joined from Sevilla in 2018 for €35 million ($36 million) and won the La Liga title in his debut season.
But last season, he dropped down the pecking order at Camp Nou after a string of foul-packed appearances.

Lenglet will add depth to Conte’s options as a centre-back, particularly to the left of his favorite back three.
