Cricket often witnesses bizarre incidents. One of these happened on Wednesday during an SA20 league game between Sunrisers Eastern Cape and MI Cape Town at the Centurion. In a video posted to Twitter by Super Sport, Pakistani presenter Zainab Abbas can be seen commenting on the match while standing just outside the boundary line. In the 13th over, Sunrisers Eastern Cape’s Marco Jansen fired a great shot towards mid-wciket at Sam Curran when the fielder on hand, in his desperation to stop the ball, made a strong sprint only to crash with Abbas.
“I survived but now I know what it feels like! get that ice pack out…” she later tweeted along with a video of the incident.

Speaking of the match, Sunrisers Eastern Cape had a great win chasing a target of 172. Sunrisers trailed five times before scoring 100 points. But Marco Jansen’s 66 from just 27 deliveries helped pull them over the line.
Left arm pacemaker Jansen hit seven sixes and three bounds in his knock. His pass rate was 244.44.
SA20 has confirmed exciting additions to the format of play for the inaugural season starting January 10th. The six teams will play a total of 33 games, including three playoff games consisting of two semifinals and the final. The additions are included to improve the quality of the product while preserving the sanctity of the game.
In an innovative move to level the playing field, each captain can nominate 13 players to take the field before the toss. After the coin toss, each captain can choose their final starting eleven and the rest of the players automatically become substitutes.
Teams are encouraged to put in dominant performances, with the winning team receiving four points and a bonus point win earning five points. The bonus point is awarded to a team that achieves a run rate of 1.25 times that of the opponent. In case of no result, both teams get two points, while the losing team gets no points.
