Colombian cyclist Juan Sebastian Molano was disqualified from the Criterium du Dauphine on Friday for hitting a fellow rider during the sixth stage. A video of Molano, who drives for the UAE team, punching France’s Hugo Page went viral on social media. The video shows Molano complaining about something to Page before hitting the last one. After the incident, Molano admitted his mistake and said he will “learn from it”.

“It was fast and tense towards the finish and in the heat of the moment I made a dangerous mistake. I understand why I was disqualified and can only say that I am sorry and will learn from it,” said Molano . AFP news agency.
The 27-year-old also claimed that Page, who is part of the Intermarche team, had driven dangerously.
Incidentally, Molano also had a physical altercation with Page after both riders reached their respective team buses.

Meanwhile, Frenchman Valentin Ferron won the sixth stage of the Criterium du Dauphine.
Ferron’s compatriots Pierre Roland and Warren Barguil finished second and third to make it a French podium.
Belgian Wout van Aert, who drives for the Jumbo team, retained his first place for the seventh and penultimate stage, which will take place later on Saturday, June 11.

With two stages to go in the race, Van Aert leads the Italian Mattia Cattaneo of Quick Step-Alpha Vinyl by 1min 03sec, followed by teammate Primoz Roglic (1min 06sec).
