One of the best hitters in the women’s spectrum, Smriti Mandhana looked sublime as the Indian women’s cricket team marginally defeated the Australian women’s cricket team in the 2nd T20I of the 5-match series in Mumbai on Sunday. After losing the first game by a whopping 9 wickets, the Indian Eves also almost conceded defeat in the 2nd game. In the end, Australia could only tie India’s total of 187 runs despite having 9 wickets in hand, forcing the match into a Super Over.
Mandhana, India’s top scoring batsman in the match with a batting of 79 runs off 49 balls, continued her sublime form with the bat and propelled India to a total of 20 runs in the one-over eliminator.

In reply Australia could only score 16 points in the Super Over with Renuka Singh Thakur giving India a win with the ball.
After the match, Mandhana admitted that the Indian team needs to learn the art of goal setting. The southpaw also labeled the match as one of the “most entertaining” games she has participated in.
“I think everyone in the Indian team likes to chase. However, we also need to work on putting up totals. When they were batting I realized it was a great wicket, I had my eyes on a big score. I wanted the same mistake as the last innings Happy to see such wickets prepared for ladies cricket you get high scores high run chases I think this is one of the most entertaining games we’ve all been a part of ,” she said at the post-match presentation ceremony.
Thanks to India’s victory, the series is now tied at 1-1.
