SunRisers Hyderabad pacer Umran Malik’s form may have dropped in the past few games, but his pace certainly hasn’t. Though he was seen for many in the last two matches, failing to take a wicket against Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals, the Indian fast bowler continues to captivate fans with his pace. Malik consistently gets into the 150-155 mph range and in almost all the matches he has played this season he has managed to win the fastest delivery of the match award. In Thursday’s game against Delhi Capitals at Brabourne Stadium, Umran threw the fastest ball of the current edition, beating his own previous record.
On the fourth ball of Delhi’s last over, Umran clocked a delivery at 157 km/h to Rovman Powell and as a result delivered the fastest ball of the current season.
The ball was thrown out and Rovman stayed deep in his crease, using his bottom hand to hit a four through the gap between extra cover and mid-off.

Umran has taken 15 wickets in 10 matches this season with his best figures of 5-25 against Gujarat Titans. However, in the last two games, the pacer has gone wicketless.
In the game against Chennai Super Kings, the 22-year-old gave up 48 runs and in the last game against Delhi, he gave up 52 runs from his four overs.
Speaking of the Delhi vs Hyderabad match, the latter won the toss and chose to bowl. Warner and Rovman Powell played undefeated strokes of 92 and 67 to help Delhi to 207/3 in 20 overs.
Ball in hand, Khaleel Ahmed scalped three wickets while DC limited SRH to 186/8, taking a 21-run victory.
SunRisers Hyderabad is now sixth in the IPL points table with 10 points from 10 matches. The team will face Royal Challengers Bangalore next Sunday at Wankhede Stadium.
