SunRisers Hyderabad pacer Umran Malik’s form may have dropped in the past few games, but his pace certainly hasn’t. Though he was seen for many in the last two matches, failing to take a wicket against Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals, the Indian fast bowler continues to captivate fans with his pace. Malik consistently gets into the 150-155 mph range and in almost all the matches he has played this season he has managed to win the fastest delivery of the match award. In Thursday’s game against Delhi Capitals at Brabourne Stadium, Umran threw the fastest ball of the current edition, beating his own previous record.
On the fourth ball of Delhi’s last over, Umran clocked a delivery at 157 km/h to Rovman Powell and as a result delivered the fastest ball of the current season.
The ball was thrown out and Rovman stayed deep in his crease, using his bottom hand to hit a four through the gap between extra cover and mid-off.
