Ons Jabeur marked her ascent to world number two by easing the second round of Wimbledon with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Swedish qualifier Mirjam Bjorklund on Monday. A quarter-finalist in 2021 and fresh off the grass course title in Berlin, Jabeur raced to victory under the Court One roof in just 54 minutes.
“Today I achieved my highest ranking ever and dropping just four games is a great start to the tournament,” said the Tunisian.
“It’s great to be back on Court One. The grass suits my drop shots and slice.
“Now I hope to get beyond the quarter-finals.”

Jabeur will face Canada’s Rebecca Marino or Poland’s Katarzyna Kawa for a place in the last 32.
