AB de Villiers is a cricketer who enjoys being a big fan of cricket and whenever anyone talks about Royal Challengers Bangalore the former Proteas batter always comes to mind. Now, the former South Africa captain has revealed that he would certainly be in the money-rich league next year as he would love to return to the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. However, De Villiers also said he is not sure at this point in what capacity he would participate in the tournament.
“I’m glad to hear that Virat has confirmed it. To be honest, we haven’t decided anything yet. Next year I will definitely be near the IPL. Not sure in what capacity, but I miss going back turn,” De Villiers told VUsport.
“I’ve heard a little bird tweeting that there might be some matches in Bangalore. So I’d like to return to my second hometown and check out the full-capacity stadium over there in the Chinnaswamy. I’d love to return, I’m looking there looking forward to it,” he added.
Earlier, RCB-batter Virat Kohli had also mentioned that in some way de Villiers could very well be with RCB next season.
“I miss him very much. I speak to him regularly, very regularly. He continues to message me. He was recently in the US to watch golf. Augusta Masters is what I heard it was called. So he told me he was there with his friends and family,” Kohli had said in a video posted to RCB’s official Twitter handle.
“So we’re keeping in touch and he’s keeping a close eye on RCB and hopefully here next year in some capacity,” he added.
While playing for RCB, the former South African star registered 5,162 runs at an average of 39.71. He also registered three tons for the franchise.
Previously, de Villiers were inducted into RCB’s Hall Of Fame along with Chris Gayle.
