The new iOS 26 operating system from Apple was unveiled on Monday during the WWDC 2025 event in Cupertino. The new operating system brings a considerable redesign of the user interface with the acceptance of a new liquid glass material over the interface, together with various other new functions.
However, a detail that flew under the radar was that Apple made quiet support for three of his older devices with the rollout of iOS 26.
Three Apple devices miss the cut
Although Apple did not remove iPhones from the supported list last year, it has now launched support for three models that were launched in 2018. These are:
iOS 26 supported Apple devices:
iPhone SE (second generation or later)
Keep in mind that iPhones that are launched prior to the iPhone 15 Pro series, do not support Apple Intelligence functions.
When will Apple release iOS 26?
Although Apple does not officially reveal when the latest iOS version will publish, the usual practice has been to send the new operating system on board the new iPhone launch in September.
For all older phones, the new OS updates are usually rolled out a few days after the latest iPhone launch.
If you want to desperately view the new operating system, there is always an option to download the Developer Beta from iOS 26, while the first public beta would have to roll out next month.
