The popular AI chatbot from OpenAi, Chatgpt, experienced a widespread malfunction on Tuesday and affects hundreds of users around the world. According to the down detector of the Track -Tracking website, the disruption began to peak shortly after 2.45 pm in India, with more than 500 users who report problems that have access to the platform.

In India, 82 percent of the complaints were directly linked to Chatgpt's core functionality, while 14 percent of users reported problems with mobile application and four percent problems with API integration.

The malfunction is not only limited to India. In the United States, more than 900 users reported similar problems shortly after 2.49 pm IST. A majority of the affected user-93 percent of problems with the help of chatgpt, while six percent were confronted with app-related difficulties and one percent reported problems.

The Status page of OpenAI has recognized the ongoing malfunction and confirms that the company is currently experiencing problems with multiple services, including Chatgpt, are APIs and Sora. In an official update, the company stated:

“Some users experience increased error percentages and latency in the listed services (APIs, Chatgpt and Sora). We continue to investigate this problem.”

OpenAi has not yet provided a timeline for resolution and the Tech giant established in San Francisco still has to issue an official statement that tackles the cause of the malfunction.

Users on social media platforms have expressed their frustration, with many who rely on the tool for professional, academic and personal use.

Calling it a burnout for OpenAI's AI tool, an X user by the handle @pathray_ri77258 wrote, “When @ChatGPT is so overworked it can't even finish your message… Today, many users (myself included) are facing errors in the message stream. Is @OpenAI having a burnout day? The fun Part?

Another user issued a more emotional reaction. Post of his official X account, said @paraka: “Chatgpt is downstairs; it is my therapist, my confidant, my lifeline to common sense. Losing it feels like a glitch in my soul – scary and sad that it has become my only friend? #Chatgptdown #wegotthis”

The malfunction led to a wave of recognizable and humorous messages online, and emphasized how deeply integrated chatgpt in the daily life of users.
