Amazon-backed AI startup Anthropic has released a new feature for its Claude AI chatbot that can mimic users' writing style to match their communication preferences, tone and structure. The new feature called 'Custom Styles' aims to tailor Claude to the user's custom needs and workflow.
Claude now comes with three writing presets available right next to the version number: formal (for clear and polished answers), concise (for shorter and more direct answers), and explanatory (for educational answers for learning new concepts). However, the interesting thing here is that users can also upload their sample content that suits their style, along with specific instructions to get Claude writing in their personalized 'Custom Style'.
While Custom Styles is now rolling out to Claude, its biggest competitors, OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google's Gemini, have had similar features for a while. ChatGPT's “Custom Instructions” and Gemini's “Saved Information” page already let users save custom information about them to personalize the chatbot's responses.
