The Huawei P60 lineup is reportedly in the works and is expected to launch in March next year. A tipster has now suggested that these smartphones will soon enter mass production along with the Huawei Mate 60 series. There have been rumors that the Huawei P60 could be powered by a Kirin 9100 SoC. However, the tipster hints that both lineups will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. Moreover, these Huawei handsets are expected to support 4G connectivity.
According to an tweet by tipster Teme (Twitter: @RODENT950), the Huawei Mate 60 series could be powered by a Snapdragon chipset codenamed SM8525. It could be a 4G variant of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, codenamed SM8550. Likewise, the Huawei P60 series could feature a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 4G SoC.
Teme claims that both setups will only offer 4G connectivity. Additionally, the previously rumored Kirin 9100 SoC will be absent from the Huawei P60. Moreover, these Huawei smartphones are expected to enter mass production soon.
Previous reports have suggested that the Huawei P60 series will debut in March 2023. The vanilla Huawei P60 handset is said to have the same variable aperture lens as the Huawei Mate 50. There could also be a 64-megapixel telephoto sensor on the back.
The tipster had earlier too shared alleged renderings of the Huawei P60. It appears to be getting a pill-shaped notch on the front to house the dual selfie camera. At the back, this smartphone would have two round camera islands. The top island could house two large sensors, while the bottom island would have a small sensor and an LED flash.
On the other hand, not much else is known about the Huawei Mate 60 series at the moment. Huawei has yet to officially confirm the existence of these two smartphone series.
