Honor Play 8T could be launched in China this week. There’s still no word from the Chinese tech brand on an official date for the handset, but a so-called official poster has now surfaced online, hinting at the smartphone’s launch date, design and some specifications. The Honor Play 8T is shown to have a punch-hole display design. It is tipped to have a dual rear camera setup, led by a 50-megapixel primary camera, and is said to pack a 6,000mAh battery.
According to an alleged teaser poster leaked by a Weibo user, the Honor Play 8T launch will take place in China on October 18. The poster suggests that the device will come with a punch-hole display for the selfie camera and a dual rear camera unit. The poster also mentions some of the phone’s specifications.
The poster states that the phone will have a 6,000 mAh battery. A 50-megapixel primary camera on the rear is also tipped. The Honor Play 8T may come with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. The smartphone’s display is said to support a maximum brightness of 850 nits.
The Honor Play 8T appears to be a rebranded version of the Honor Play 50 Plus. The latter was announced in China earlier this month with a price tag of CNY 1,399 (approximately Rs. 15,000). So far, Honor has not shared any information about the phone’s specifications or release date, including on its official Weibo channel.
The Honor Play 8T could debut as the successor to the Honor Play 7T. It was launched in March for CNY 1,099 (approximately Rs. 13,100) for the base variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.
The Honor Play 7T has a 6.74-inch TFT LCD screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. It runs on an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 6020 SoC paired with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of built-in storage. It has a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 50-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The device is equipped with a 5 megapixel camera on the front for selfies and video calls. It is backed by a 6,000mAh battery with 22.5W wired charging support.
