Apple's new iOS 26 was unveiled yesterday during the WWDC conference in Cupertino, making it the largest yet redesign for the iPhones since iOS 7. The new update also marks the first time that Apple has released the sequential name schedule in favor of a new one based on the upcoming anniversary.
Apple's new onion bet:
Apple has introduced a design element in its user interface in iOS 26 called 'Liquid Glass', which is essentially a smooth, transparent style animation that changes based on what is on the screen. The lock screen and the home screen are now more adjustable, with time that shifts to your background and backgrounds that respond to how to move your iPhone.
Apple has also given a large makeover to three large apps: camera, photos and safari. The camera app has a cleaner layout, while photos now separates your main library and collections in tabs. With Safari, web pages can fill the entire screen, and apps such as Apple Music and News Feature Floating Tabbars that hide and appear again while scrolling.
What's new with Apple Intelligence?
iOS 26 uses Apple's intelligence to help users do more while keeping their data private. Newlive translation functions in messages, Facetime and telephone translate spoken and written language immediately without sending anything to the cloud.
Users can also use tools such as Visual Intelligence to communicate with what is on their screen, such as searching for products, getting answers using chatgpt or adding events to their agenda by viewing them.
There are also new ways to express yourself with the help of Genmoji (adapted emojis) and image playground, where you can make nice images using simple words or emojis.

When and where to download iOS 26?
Although Apple does not officially reveal when the latest iOS version will publish, the usual practice has been to send the new operating system on board the new iPhone launch in September.
For all older phones, the new OS updates are usually rolled out a few days after the latest iPhone launch.
If you want to desperately view the new operating system, there is always an option to download the Developer Beta from iOS 26, while the first public beta would have to roll out next month.
