Although OpenAI already has many subscription layers for Chatgpt, there has been a constant chat that the AI startup would like to look to bring advertisements to its most popular product and if a new report has to be believed, that time is not far away.
According to a report from Sources, OpenAIs is recently a member of the CEO of Applications Fidji Simo looking for someone who can help the AI startup to make billions of dollars of advertisements. The report noted that Simo recently had a meeting with potential candidates, including some of its former Facebook colleagues to lead a new team that will be charged in bringing advertisements to Chatgpt.
The new role will supervise all efforts for generating income on OpenAI, including the subscriptions.
Interestingly, the report also noted that this new recruitment will report directly to Simo and not to Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAi. Simo is currently responsible for most parts of OpenAI, apart from the research and infrastructure of the company, consumer hardware and safety teams that still report Direclty to Altman.
What did Chatgpt -Head say about advertisements in the chatbot?
However, this is not the first time we hear about advertisements that come to chatgpt. In a podcast earlier this year, OpenAi's Head Chatgpt did not have the opportunity to bring advertisements to the chatbot.
“If we would ever do that (advertisements to chatgpt), I want to be very, very careful and convinced because I really think the thing that makes chatgpt magical, is that you get the best answer for you and there is no other stakeholder in the middle. Save that and that retains the stimulering structure, but we would have had to be a new concept, ''
In the meantime, Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAi, has also said that he is not “completely against” to bring advertisements to chatgpt and even praised the advertisements on Instagram.
“I can point out areas where I love advertisements. I think advertisements on Instagram are rather cool. I bought a lot of things from them. But I think it would take a lot of care to be good.” Altman had said.
