The victim was on the A train near 190th Street in Manhattan on Saturday afternoon, March 19, when a person approached and began threatening and spitting on the victim, police said.
Police released a video asking the public to help identify the whereabouts of the unidentified person wanted in connection with the attack.
The unidentified person was said to sit across from the victim and said, “I wish I had my pepper spray,” the police report said. The person then spat at the victim and repeated similar statements, eventually attacking and grabbing the victim by the hair, hitting her multiple times in the face and head, police said.
As the attacker punched her and yanked her off the victim’s head, the police said, “I’ve had enough of you f*gs.”
The victim was taken to hospital in stable condition with cuts to the head.
The Hate Crimes Task Force investigation is open and ongoing, the release said.
