The Congress held its working committee meeting in Hyderabad
New Delhi:
Congress called for unity among citizens who cut across ideological and party lines to what it called “overthrow the dictatorial government” to save democracy.
On the second day of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting in Hyderabad, party national leader Mallikarjun Kharge asked all leaders and workers at all levels to meet people regularly and listen to their problems as the party prepares the terrain to take on the national struggle. election next year.
“This is not the time for us to rest. Over the past decade under the BJP rule, the challenges faced by common people have multiplied. The Prime Minister refuses to address the concerns of the poor, farmers, workers, women and youth; instead, he cannot see beyond himself,” Kharge said.
“In such circumstances we cannot remain silent spectators. We must unite and overthrow this dictatorial government to save our democracy,” he said.
Sonia Gandhi asked the party leaders to maintain self-control and avoid going to the media with comments that could harm the interests of the Congress. The party has already released a list of journalists and media organizations with whom Congress no longer wants to work.
“We must work tirelessly and put aside personal interests. We must prioritize the success of the party and put aside our personal differences… Only through unity and discipline can we defeat our opponents. This was evident in Karnataka where we remained united and I fought with discipline to achieve success,” said Kharge.

The Congress is part of the newly formed opposition bloc INDIA, which the BJP believes faces many internal challenges as some parties are rivals in many states.
The COR has 39 permanent members, 32 permanent invitees and 13 special invitees. They include 15 women and several new faces like Shashi Tharoor, Sachin Pilot and Gaurav Gogoi.
BJP chief JP Nadda has said that the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) only knew how to commit scams. Home Minister Amit Shah yesterday slammed the INDIA Coalition for allegedly disparaging “Sanatana Dharma” and alleged that the Congress-led coalition had done away with the earlier name “UPA” as it was associated with “scam involving Rs 12 lakh crore was involved”.
