Rachin Ravindra's 65 and Noor Ahmad's 4-Wicket Huls were the most important contributors to the victory of the Super Kings in their opening conflict, although the internet claimed that 'another factor' could have contributed to the result of the series. A video originated on social media, with CSK -Duo Ruturaj Gaikwad and Khaleel Ahmed, which caused speculation of 'Ball Taming' caused by the hosts in Chepauk.

Some fans on social media also tried to explain what could have happened and say that a 'chewing gum' may have been passed on between the two.

No official complaint about the case was submitted by Mumbai Indians or one of their players about this. The chat around CSK that tampered with the circumstances of the ball seems to be purely speculative by some of the fans.
