The BJP has claimed that the wife of the Congress Member of the Gogoi has ties with Pakistan and her intelligence service Isi, who draws a sharp retort from the leader.
BJP spokesman Gaurav Bhatia claimed on Wednesday that Elizabeth Colebourn, Mr. Gogoi's wife, had ties with the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) while working with the Climate and Knowledge Development Network (CDKN) in Islamabad under Ali Tauqeer Sheikh, one First advisor of the Planistan planning committee. Mrs. Colebourn is reportedly keeping British citizenship.
After similar allegations were also made by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, without appointing Mr. Gogoi, the deputy leader of the congress in the Lok Sabha hit back with a film reference and said sarcastically that he subsequently a research and analysis blind (RAW) must be (raw) intermediary. The Member of Parliament of the Congress also said that the Assam Chief Minister submitted the claims for cases of alleged land grip against his family.
BJP spokesperson Bhatia, who claimed that it was a matter of national security, BJP spokesperson posted X: “Very disturbing and serious facts have come to light that the deputy leader of opposition, Gaurav Gogoi and his wife have ties with Pakistan And I say this with some responsibility that Gaurav Gogoi's wife Elizabeth Colburn (sic) has tauqir sheikh (sic), who happens to be an adviser in the Pakistan Planning Commission. “
“This is a serious issue that pays a threat to the national security of the country, so we want to ask Mr Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge that Gaurav Gogoi should come out and give clear details of Elizabeth's association with ISI and Pakistan … Why does Elizabeth Colburn works with Pakistani ISI agents, “he asked.
Referring to Mr Gandhi's comments about “Fighting against the BJP, the RSS and the Indian state itself”, Mr Bhatia continued, “they work to promote Mr. Rahul Gandhi that the fight of Rahul Gandhi and the Congress is the Indian and Pakistan will support their political goals … Why does the Congrest Party always be the best friend of Pakistan and ISI when it comes to conspiracy against India? “
'Ecosystem involved'
Without giving details or naming Mr Gogoi, Assam Chief Minister Sarma wondered whether foreign powers – coupled with the “ecosystem” of the American billionaire George Soros – had influenced an important decision of the Assam congress in 2014.
In a series of messages on X, Mr. Sarma wrote: “Serious questions must be answered about accusations of ISI tires, as a result of which young individuals the Pakistani embassy for brainwashing and radicalization, and the refusal to take Indian citizenship over the past 12 years Moreover, participation in a conversion cartel, including George Soros, is not aware of the national security, which cannot be ignored as an easy escape route.
The Chief Minister added: “During my interactions with an IFS officer (Indian foreign service) in Singapore, I heard that officers in the Indian foreign service cannot marry a foreign national without prior permission from the Indian government. Even when permission is admitted, it comes with the condition that the spouse has to acquire the Indian citizenship within six months.
'Trick to save itself'
Gaurav Gogoi was brought up with a film reference.
“If Salman Khan's wife can be an ISI agent like in 'Tiger Zinda Hai'Then I also have to be a rough agent, “said Mr. Gogoi.
