A day after the BJP scored a pounding victory in the election of Delhi Assembly and ended the AAM Aadmi Party (AAP) 10-year rules, newly elected BJP MLA Parvesh Verma launched a Shayari attack on AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal.
A video that he shared on X shows Mr Kejriwal's speech before the elections in which he challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “I want to challenge Modi Ji, you can't beat AAP in Delhi in this birth. You should be reborn,” says the monkey leader.
The video then shows Premier Modi who gives a speech and AAP focuses on his “Aapda” Jab. “There is only one choir in Delhi. We will not tolerate Aapda, we will change,” he says. The video then shows the chair after counting and shows BJP with 48 seats and monkey with 22.

Mr. Verma endorsed the video of 33 seconds with the lines: “I Shaksh Jo Yahan Takht-Nashheen Tha, USKO APNE KHUDA HONE PE Bohut Yakeen Tha.” This translates roughly as “the one who was previously on the throne believed that he was God.” The lines are a somewhat changed version of Habib Jalib's immortal Shayari who remembers despoten that power is temporary. The Shayari is often used to criticize autocratic regimes.
Jalib was born in Punjab's Hoshiarpur in 1928 and moved to Pakistan during the partition. His writings opposed the state of siege and state suppression and had also spoken to Ayub Khan when he set up a coup and the power in Pakistan rubbed. He died in 1993.
