Umarie:
Five persons were killed when the car they were traveling in rammed into a tree along the national highway in Madhya Pradesh’s Umaria district in the early hours of Monday, police said.
The incident took place around 3 am near Majhgava village on National Highway Number 43 under Ghunghuti police post area, an official said.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Shailendra Chaturvedi said five persons were traveling in the car heading to Shahdol from Umaria when the collision took place.
He said three occupants of the car died on the spot, while two others succumbed to their injuries on the way to hospital.
All victims were between 30 and 35 years old. Most of them were government employees, he added.
A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
