New Delhi:
A national-level female wrestler, who is accused of cheating an agent with lakhs of rupees, has shared a video online denouncing the allegations against her.
“This is my last video. Forgive me, I don’t have the courage to tolerate any more. God will see him. He will be punished for his actions,” wrestler Raunak Gulia captioned the video.
Deepak Sharma, an assistant superintendent of Tihar jail, had accused her and her husband Ankit Gulia of cheating him out of Rs 50 lakh under the pretext of investing a health products company.
In her video, Ms Gulia dismissed the accusation as “lies”. She said she is not on the run and that the FIR registration against her was “false”. “There is an FIR, come and arrest me if there is any evidence against me,” she said.
She also claimed that illegal deals were made between the agent and her husband, which she later found out about.
Both Gulias are professional wrestlers and enjoy a large social media following. Mr. Sharma, a fitness enthusiast, is also an influencer.
In his complaint, Mr. Sharma had alleged that he had met Ms. Gulia on a reality show, where she told him that her husband was a well-known health product entrepreneur and that they were looking for investors.
Mr. Sharma is said to have invested Rs 50 lakh in the Gulias’ affairs lured by their promises of huge profits, but they later refused to return his money.
Tihar’s jailer subsequently filed a complaint on the basis of which a fraud case was registered.
