New Delhi:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today launched a strong offensive against the Congress over its inability to deliver on promises after winning the elections. He gave the examples of Congress-ruled Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana, where he said development and fiscal indicators have gone from “bad to worse”.
“The Congress party is realizing the hard way that making unreal promises is easy, but executing them properly is difficult or impossible. Campaign after campaign they promise things to the people, which they also know they will never be able to deliver. poorly lit in front of the people,” Prime Minister Modi said in a message on X.
“Look at every state where Congress has governments today – Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana – the development trajectory and fiscal health are changing from bad to worse. Their so-called guarantees remain unfulfilled, which is a terrible deception for the people of these states. The victims of such policies are the poor, youth, farmers and women, who are not only denied the benefits of these promises, but also see their existing plans are watered down,” said the Prime Minister.
The Congress had promised many free schemes in Karnataka ahead of the Assembly elections. However, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar's comment on the revision of the Shakti free travel scheme for women was met with a major controversy.
The Congress central leadership had to take Mr Shivakumar to task for even suggesting that they would revise the plan, while Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had promised similar plans in neighboring Maharashtra, where elections are due later this month.
“In Karnataka, the Congress is more concerned with intra-party politics and plundering rather than even bothering to make progress. Not only that, they will also roll back existing regulations. In Himachal Pradesh, salaries of government employees are not paid on time. In Telangana, farmers are waiting for the waiver they promised. Earlier, in Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan, they promised certain allowances that were never implemented for five years. There are countless examples of how Congress works,” PM Modi said in the post.
The Congress party is realizing the hard way that making unreal promises is easy, but executing them properly is difficult or impossible. Campaign after campaign, they promise things to people that they know they will never be able to deliver. Now they are in bad shape…

Earlier, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge advised the party's units heading to the polls, warning them against announcing guarantees based on their budget. Mr Kharge urged careful consideration and warned that an unplanned approach could lead to financial problems and have a negative impact on future generations.
During the press conference, he underlined the importance of fiscal responsibility, stating that if the government fails to meet its obligations, it could result in a bad reputation and hardship for the community.
“In Maharashtra I have said that they should not announce five, six, ten or twenty guarantees. They must issue guarantees based on the budget. Otherwise there will be bankruptcy. If there is no money for roads, everyone will oppose the If this government fails, the future generation will be left with nothing but a bad name. They will have to live in exile for 10 years,” Mr Kharge had said.
