Srinagar:
People's Conference Chief Sajad Lone On Wednesday, the candlelight vigil's candlelight wake led to the terror attack of the Pahalgam and said that the whole of Kashmir “struck tears of blood”.
The terror strike in an excellent tourist location in Pahalgam on Tuesday, the deadliest in the Kashmir -Valley since the Pulwama attack of 2019, left at least 26 people, mainly tourists, death and various injured people.
PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti led a march from party leaders and employees from Sher-E-Kashmir Park to the historic city center of Lal Chowk.
Mr Lone, who is also an MLA from Handwara, led a candlelight march in Polo View. In conversation with reporters, he said that the murders were “deeply regrettable” and the attack described as the “serious in the past 30 years”.
“The very Kashmir is today the tears of blood shedding. These tourists were part of our hearts,” he said.
Referring to closing and protests over the valley, Mr Lone said that the mass rise on the street should send a clear message to these nasty elements that “this is our country, and these visitors are our guests. Put your bullets down, we will not even tolerate a glare to our guests”.
He said that for decades the people of Kashmir have been known for their warmth and generosity. “But now the blood of our guests stood our conscience. It was outsiders who struck, not we the natives,” Lone added.
The PDP MLA said that the outpouring of sorrow and solidarity should serve as a strict warning for those who use weapons that such atrocities “will no longer be tolerated.” External villains behind this cruelty were aimed at paralyzing the economy of Kashmir and his people in desperation, but they will not succeed, added lonely.
