Actor Samanta Ruth Prabhu's response to Konda Surekha over her comments on her divorce with Naga Chaitanya, had a brief message for the Telangana minister and advised her to be “responsible and respectful of the privacy of individuals” and keep her “out of the political fray ” to let.
The short note, which was posted to her Instagram hours after the minister's comment, was damning. It accused the minister of indulging in speculation, misrepresentation and downplaying her journey as a woman.
“My divorce is a personal matter and I request you not to speculate on it… To clarify, my divorce was consensual and amicable with no political conspiracy involved,” the actor wrote.
In a blistering attack on KT Rama Rao, son of former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, Ms Surekha earlier today linked him to Samantha Ruth Prabhu's divorce from her former husband Naga Chaitanya.
She had also said that he was the reason why many actresses left films and got married early. KT Rama Rao, she alleged, blackmailed film personalities after getting them addicted to drugs.
Naga Chaitanya has not yet responded. His father, Nagarjuna Akkineni, was the first to arrive. In a post on
“I strongly condemn the comments of the Honorable Minister, Ms. Konda Surekha. Do not use the lives of film stars who stay away from politics to criticize your opponents. Please respect the privacy of others,” a rough translation of his message said.
“As a woman in a position of responsibility, your comments and accusations against our family are completely irrelevant and false. I request you to withdraw your comments immediately,” he added.
