New Delhi:
After a week-long standoff between the government and the opposition ended in an agreement, both Houses of Parliament will start functioning smoothly from today.
Leaders of all parties, convened by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, met on Monday and all agreed to a special discussion on the Constitution during the session. The government agreed to raise certain issues such as the situation in Bangladesh and the violence in Sambhal during Zero Hour.
The winter session of Parliament started on November 25 and will last until December 20.

Congressman K Suresh said, “Today we have decided to cooperate with the session of Parliament. The first week – all four days the house was not functioning. Yesterday the house wasn't functioning either. The speaker opened the discussion between government representatives and leaders of opposition parties. Then we came to a conclusion… We continue our voice outside Parliament…”
On the Bangladesh issue, he said: “Whatever is going in Bangladesh is very unfortunate. The protection of minorities is very important as far as Bangladesh is concerned. The opposition parties expressed our concern about the ISKCON priest from Bangladesh and today the house is functioning normally. this issue will also be raised…”

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said, “Since the day the parliamentary session started, the Samajwadi Party has been trying to raise the issue of Sambhal incident. The House was not functioning but our demands are still the same – we want our views on the Sambhal incident in the House of Representatives. The officers there work randomly – so that they work as party workers of the BJP… The Sambhal incident is a well-thought-out strategy of the BJP. distract people from other issues. - According to the Lok Sabha's Business List, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will on Tuesday introduce the Banking Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2024, to reform the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934, the Banking Regulation Act, 1949, and the State Bank of India change. Act, 1955, the Banking Companies (Acquisition and Transfer of Undertakings) Act, 1970 and the Banking Companies (Acquisition and Transfer of Undertakings) Act, 1980. The bill will be submitted for consideration and approval.
