New Delhi/Washington DC:
The regime change in the neighbor Bangladesh, who have attributed many geopolitical analysts to the alleged work of the American deep state in the shadows that US President Donald Trump grazed during his joint press conference with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Washington DC.
A reporter sought the opinion of President Trump about whether the previous Democratic government carried out a regime change in Bangladesh under former President Joe Biden and installed Muhammad Yunus as the main advisor.
President Trump denied that the American deep state played a role in developments in Bangladesh, whose deposed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina put shelter in India.
“There was no role for our deep state. This is something the prime minister has been working on for a long time, for hundreds of years, I honestly read about it. I will leave Bangladesh to the prime minister,” President said Trump.
Although the Republican did not answer the question directly, speculation is that the answer indicated that the new Trump government may not be involved in Bangladesh, where alleged radical Islamic elements focus on religious minorities, including Hindoes.
The ties between India and Bangladesh were stabbed after Mrs. Hasina fled Dhaka in August in the light of a massive anti-government protest.
The interim government led by Nobel Prize winner Muhammad Yunus, who came back from the US to work as the caretaker of Bangladesh, continues to draw up sharp criticism about not enough to stop attacks by radical Islamists.
The Indian Foreign Minister Vikram Miskri said on Thursday that PM Modi shared concern about recent developments in Bangladesh with President Trump.
“This was a subject that was discussed between the two leaders. And the prime minister shared his views and, indeed, his concern about recent developments in Bangladesh and how India sees the situation,” said the Minister of Foreign Affairs after the two leaders, “Joint Press briefing.
“We hope that the situation in Bangladesh will also move forward in a direction where we can pursue relationships with them in a constructive and stable way. But there are concerns about that situation. And the prime minister shared those views with President Trump,” he said In response to the question of a reporter.
PM Modi is in the US for two days. He also met billionaire businessman Elon Musk.
