Bhubaneswar:
Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari of the Union said on Thursday that Odisha will soon get America-like highways.
Unveiling 19 national highway projects worth RS 4.137 Crore in the state, he said that the road connection will stimulate tourism in the state.
“The center will offer the world class infrastructure to Odisha, and the people here will soon get America-like highways. The state will have ports, minerals and forests. Road Connectivity will increase its tourist potential,” he said.
Note that the center of highway projects has carried out almost RS 2 Lakh Crore in the state, Mr Gadkari said that projects worth RS 60,000 crore have already been completed.
Working for projects worth RS 60,000 crore are underway, while projects worth RS 75,000 crore are in the making, he said.
Minister -President Mohan Charan Majhi, deputy CMS Pravati Parida and KV Singh Deo, MPS, MLAs and ministers were present in the program in Baramunda Maidan in Bhubaneswar.
Referring to the requirement of Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi, Mr Gadkari said that his ministry has already approved the Capital Region Ring Road project.
“We are waiting for the Knik of the Union Cabinet. The Rameswaram ring road in the Khurda district to Tangi in Cuttack District will be performed for an amount of RS 7,000 Crore,” he said.
Mr Gadkari said that the center has approved to broaden the Bhubaneswar-Puri highway to six lanes for an amount of RS 1,200 Crore.
“The travel time between Bhubaneswar and Puri is reduced from 90 minutes to 45 minutes,” he added.
According to the position of the position, Chief Minister Majhi put forward the proposal to broaden the Bhubaneswar-Puri Highway to eight lanes by offering a Dienstweg.
“The roller coasters between Bhubaneswar and Puri can meet the needs for the next 100 years,” he said, and also urged Mr Gadkari to take the necessary steps to broaden the proposed coastal road to four lanes.
Mr Gadkari said that the second Ranchi-Shambalpur-Gang will be built for an amount of RS 8,000 crore, and the Chandikhol-Paradip-Gang will be completed in December 2026.
He laid the Foundation Stones for 13 national highway projects worth RS 2.905 Crore. As part of these projects, new roads will be built and existing roads will be widened in the Khurda, Puri, Ganjam, Kandhamal and Nayagarh districts.
He also laid the foundation stones for four bridges worth RS 427 Crore. These bridges, with a combined length of 4.82 km, will be built on the Berhampur-Gopalpur and Rourkela-Biramitrapur motorways under the Central Road Infrastructure Fund (CRIF).
Mr. Gadkari has also inaugurated the four-lane of the Talcher-Kamakhyanagar section of NH-149 and another section of NH-53. The projects were carried out for an amount of RS 800 Crore.
He has also inaugurated the vehicle underpass of NH-16 in Balikuda, Sikharpur and Badachana.
Earlier in the day, Mr Gadkari visited the World Skill Center in Bhubaneswar and interaction with students.
