Many of us will end 2022 with celebrations that will last into the wee hours of New Year’s Day.
But when January 1, 2023 kicks in, we might as well return to familiar routines and habits — caffeine? — and even add in some new resolutions like a morning walk or eating healthier.
If so, several supermarket chains, drugstores and restaurant chains across the country will be open for business on January 1, 2023.
But check the opening hours at your local store. Several have changed opening hours, opening later or closing earlier on New Year’s Day.
Since January 1, 2023 falls on a Sunday, Monday, January 2 will be treated as a paid holiday for most federal employees. This means post offices, government offices and banks are closed on Mondays.
