Bhopal:
After Sidhi, another urination incident has been reported, allegedly by a ruling BJP leader, involving a chowkidar from Bhopal’s Chaupadkala village.
A First Information Report (FIR) dated September 10 said that Ram Swarup Ahirwar, who belongs to the Dalit community, was allegedly kidnapped and thrashed by the village sarpanch’s husband Sheru Meena and aides for blocking fencing on government land .
Mr Meena is also alleged to have urinated on an injured Mr Ahirwar in captivity.
The FIR, filed by Ahirwar, alleged that patwari Arun Mudgal had asked him on September 10 to stop fencing on government land by Mr Meena and his aides.
When Mr Ahirwar arrived there, Mr Meena and aides allegedly kidnapped him in an SUV and took him to a farm, where he was thrashed. Mr. Meena allegedly urinated on him there.
Mr Ahirwar suffered a fracture to his right leg, in addition to wounds in other parts of the body, including chest, back, ear and head.
A case has been filed against seven men under the stringent SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
“All seven accused, including Sheru Meena, have been arrested,” said SP (Bhopal Rural) Pramod Sinha.
Mr Meena is reportedly a BJP leader and a key supporter of second-time BJP MLA and former Vidhan Sabha patron Rameshwar Sharma.
Mr Sharma also said that both Mr Meena and Mr Ahirwar are his supporters and close friends. “I did not try to save the suspect; anyone can share photos clicked with me on social media,” said Sharma.
Congress MLA Kunal Chaudhary’s latest incident has once again exposed how BJP leaders and their supporters, “intoxicated by arrogance and power”, are committing atrocities against Dalits and tribals.
“The people will teach them a befitting lesson in the coming elections,” the Congress MLA said.
