Jaipur:
A recovery committee from a consumer in Jaipur has Bollywood actors Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay DEVGN and Tiger Shroff about an alleged misleading advertisement for a pan of Masala.
The Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission district, Jaipur II, has also issued a similar notification as Vimal Kumar Agarwal, chairman of JB Industries who produces Vimal Pan Masala and dedicated all parties on 19 March.
“The hearing date is set at 10 am. If you do not appear in person or through your authorized representative, the Exp Parte complaint will be decided on the aforementioned hearing date,” said the notification, issued by committee chairman Gyarsilal Meena and member Hemlata Agarwal in Hindi on March 5.
The committee has also instructed all actors and the Pan Masala production company to submit their answers within 30 days of receiving the notification.
There was no immediate comments from the actors or the company until the moment of submitting this report.
The notification was issued on the basis of a complaint by the Jaipur -based lawyer Yogendra Singh Badiyyal, who claimed that the advertisement says “Daane Daane Mein Hai Kesar Ka Dum (Every grain of the aforementioned Pan Masala has the power of Saffron) “” As a result “,” Number one of the applicant (JB Industries) makes crores of rupees and the ordinary people regularly consume the Pan Masala that is harmful to health and inviting serious diseases such as cancer, “he said.
The 68-year-old lawyer said the public is being lured to buy Vimal Pan Masala “in the name of Saffron-containing Gutkha”.
“Ordinary people get confused in the name of saffron, while there is no mixture of a substance such as saffron in the aforementioned product,” he said.
The price of saffron in the market is RS 4 Lakh per kg and the Pan Masala only costs RS 5, he said. “The saffron cannot be mixed, leaves the scent alone,” he added
Mr Badiyal demanded action against the production company and the actors involved in the promotion of the product “for spreading false information and cheating the general public”.
“Because of this false publicity and distribution, the general public is confronted with loss of life and health, for which the applicants are individually and indirectly responsible,” he said.
He demanded that a fine was imposed on the suspect, and a ban on the advertisement and the Pan Masala “with immediate effect … in the interest of justice and the general public”.
The lawyer said that he “participates in social services and social awareness activities and takes action for the elevation of society and against social evils and propaganda”.
