Washington:
The American Supreme Court has convicted Mumbai attack for the extradition of Tahawwur Rana to India and rejected his appeal against the relocation.
India is looking for the extradition of Rana, a Canadian national of Pakistani descent, as he is desired in the Mumbai terrorist attacks in 2008. This was Rana's last legal opportunity not to be delivered to India. He previously lost a legal battle in various federal courts, including the US Court of Appeals for the North Circuit in San Francisco.
On November 13, Rana submitted a “petition for a Writ of Certiorari” for the American Supreme Court. This was refused by the Tophof on January 21, a day after Donald Trump was sworn in as the American president.
“Mapping,” said the Supreme Court.
Rana, 64, is currently being held in the metropolitan detention center in Los Angeles.
Earlier, the US government had argued in court that the petition for a written Certiorari had to be refused. The American lawyer -general Elizabeth B Prelogar said this in his submission for the Supreme Court on December 16.
She said that in this case Rana was not entitled to exemption from extradition to India.
In his' petitions for a written Certiorari to revise the judgment of the United States Court of Appeal for the ninth circuit, Rana had argued that he was being tried and acquitted in the federal court in the Northern district of Illinois (Chicago) on Accusation The Terrorist attack of 2008 on Mumbai. “India is now trying to deliver him for trial for charges based on the identical behavior in the Chicago case,” said it.
Prelogar did not agree.
“The government does not admit that all the behavior in which India is looking for an extradition fall under the prosecution of the government. For example, the fake costs of India are partially based false information in a request to formally a branch of the Immigration Law Center Opening it to the reserve Bank of India, “had said the American lawyer general.
“It is not clear that in this case the judgment of the jury – that conspiracy costs entails and was somewhat difficult to dissect – means that he is” convicted or acquitted “about all the specific behavior that India has sued,” Prelogar had said.
It is known that Rana is associated with Pakistani-American terrorist David Coleman Headley, one of the most important conspirators of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.
A total of 166 people, including six Americans, were killed in the terrorist attacks of Mumbai in 2008, with 10 Pakistani terrorists taking a siege of more than 60 hours, attacking and killing people in the iconic and vital locations of Mumbai.
