Three Indian sailors killed in explosion on naval vessel

It gave no reason for the blast, but said a commission of inquiry would investigate.

“The ship’s crew responded immediately and had the situation under control quickly. No major material damage was reported,” the navy said in a statement.

The explosion occurred in an internal compartment aboard a naval vessel, Ranvir, which had been operationally deployed by the Eastern Naval Command since November and was due to return to base port shortly, the statement said.
