New Delhi:
Election for the 70 meeting seats of Delhi, crucial for Arvind Kejriwal Given the mass accusations of corruption against him and his government, will be held today. The triangular competition will take place between the prevailing monkey, BJP and the congress.
Here are the top 10 points in this story:
- The Aam Aadmi party of Arvind Kejriwal has swept the last two elections. But since then, the government has been confronted with enormous accusations of corruption in connection with a now grown alcohol policy.
- This time the BJP hopes for the victory, powered by huge meetings led by PM Modi and an early start of his Mammoet election machines. After 10 years in Delhi's political fringes, the congress also hopes for a comeback
- Mr Kejriwal and several of his ministers, including his closest assistant Manish Sisodia, had been in prison for months and had had to resign from the position of the Chief Minister and the leadership. However, he took a moral high terrain and said that he would only be back in the top post after a “certificate of honesty” of the people.
- The AAP government is also impeded because of its repeated face-offs with the lieutenant governor on multiple issues.
- Despite the clear decision of the Supreme Court that the elected government has all the power and the LG has only three specific areas – country, public order and the police – the government of the Union gave LG power over bureaucrats with a regulation.
- The arrest of Manish Sisodia and Arvind Kejriwal were also encouraged by the approval of the lieutenant greur of a probe in the liquid swam. Kejriwal was arrested in March last year and spent almost six months in prison. Manish Sisodia was in prison for 17 months.
- Various other monkey ministers and leaders, including Sanjay Singh, Satyendar Jain and Amanatullah Khan, were also arrested under different allegations. The accusations of corruption have been crucial for AAP, who came to power on the wings of the anti-corruption crusade of the well-known Gandhian Anna Hazare.
- AAP, who pulled the plug from her alliance government with the congress just after 48 days during the first Stint, won the 2015 elections after Mr Kejriwal apologized to the population of Delhi and was looking for another chance, promised he five years would stay a long time.
- Their second sweep was powered by a management model that focuses on education and health care. Despite the allegation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's “Revdi Culture”, the Delhi model also brought monkey success in Punjab and the party helped to expand its footprint in other states, giving it the tag of a national party.
- A loss in Delhi will currently be a huge setback for the 10-year-old party, while a victory against all chances will settle its references firmly as an fearless competitor of the BJP.
