The pink bus made its way through a narrow alley with Telangana leaders on top in Nizamabad’s Armoor. When the driver applied the brakes, Telangana Chief Minister KT Rama Rao, popularly known as KTR, almost fell off. He was flanked by Jeevan Reddy and Suresh Reddy, who took a tremendous fall, a video showed.
But the campaign for the November 30 elections continued and Minister KTR, who is also the working president of the BRS, left for the Kodangal campaign.
The video showed the minister and other leaders huddled on a small platform above the bus and holding onto the railing as the vehicle moved through the narrow alley.
Men in white T-shirts and camouflage pants ran with the bus on either side, holding a rope. A security man was seen clearing up the fight at the front. At this point the driver hit the brakes and the leaders fell over, as seen in the video.
KTR was rescued by an alert security man, but his co-leaders were not so lucky. They suffered minor bruises.
Telangana will witness a triangular battle between the BRS, Congress and the BJP.
In the last parliamentary elections in 2018, the BRS won 88 out of 119 seats, accounting for 47.4 percent of the total vote share. The Congress finished a distant second with 19 seats and a vote share of 28.7 percent.
The votes will be counted on December 3.
