New Delhi:
Delhi's ride with Rapido turned into an unexpected “healthy experience” when she met a female captain who was also a chef. Smriti Sahu revealed in a LinkedIn post that after an evening of shopping with a colleague she booked a Rapido ride and was surprised to accept a female driver, Pooja Tripathi, her request.
She also booked an Uber ride at the same time, but had canceled it and chose it instead to ride the Rapido captain on her “Kali (Black) assets.”
“It was the best decision ever because she was absolutely entertaining. Such a cheerful person!” Mrs. Sahu wrote. What really touched her was the inspiring life story of Mrs. Tripathi.
The Rapido captain is, apart from painting passengers, also a chief of profession. She joined the Ride-Hail platform, simply because she likes to ride her scooter.
Mrs. Sahu remembered how Mrs. Tripathi often checked her comfort with questions such as: “Madam, zyada tez toh nahi chahala rahi after?“(Am I driving too fast?) And”AAP AARAM SE TOH BAITHE HO?“(Are you comfortable?).
“She not only talked to Hetwille van het, I could see that she had experienced some difficult times, just because of the way she appreciated every little happy moment in her life,” said Mrs. Sahu, adding that the 35 -minute ride flew by.
She also shared the details of Mrs. Tripathi in a screenshot that showed her in a chief uniform. “Below are her details, in case Rapido rewards her in any way,” wrote Mrs. Sahu.
The post soon went viral.
A user said: “This is just so cool. Only good vibes.”
Another wrote: “Wow, such a fantastic and beautiful story.”
“If someone who is afraid of booking rides more on Uber or Ola makes me so much happier,” was a comment.
Someone said, “Such a healthy moment!”
Last month, co-founder of Rapido Pavan announced that the company would launch its only-feminine bicycle taxi service called 'Bike Pink' in Karnataka. It would create 25,000 jobs for women. The service was first introduced in Chennai in September 2024. They are also planning to expand 'Bike Pink' to Kolkata.
