Bengaluru:
Indian Food and Grocery Delivery Platform Zomato said on Thursday that it will rename the company to be “eternal” and reveal a new logo, a movement that started using the new name more than two years after it started internally.
Eternal would include four large companies – Vertical Zomato, Quick -commerce unit Blinkit, Live Events Business District and Kitchen Supplies Unit Hyperpure, the company said.
“We thought about publicly renaming the company when a little further than Zomato became an important engine of our future,” founder Deepinder Goyal said in a letter to shareholders.
“Today, with Blinkit, I feel that we are here,” said Goyal.
The relocation marks a shift for the company, when investors were skeptical about Zomato's acquisition of Blinkit in mid -2022, rapidly guided by trade motor drawing in investor interests.
Blinkit and the Instamart of Early Bird Swiggy have driven a shift in the way Indians shop, and forced retailers such as Jiomart from Reliance Industries and the Indian company of Amazon and Walmart to launch their own fast-commerce services.
