Samajwadi party leader Akhilesh Yadav has expressed concern about the alleged disappearance of around 1,000 Hindu sought the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj. The SP leader urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to tackle this issue when discussing the success of the event in the Lok Sabha.
“1000 Hindus are missing in the Kumbh whose place of residence is not known. The BJP must provide information about the 1000 people who are missing,” said SP leader Yadav outside parliament.
Akhilesh Yadav's comments followed on the statement of PM Modi about the role of Maha Kumbh in promoting the national unity and demonstrating the ability of India to organize large meetings.
However, Akhilesh Yadav emphasized that the government must concentrate on finding the missing persons and giving clarity about the budget that has been assigned to the event.
“The government must find the Hindu brothers they miss and unite with their families. People put on posters of missing people and the government even gets them,” said Yadav.
PM Modi should have talked about finding those people, he said.
The BJP and his people should help the families of those who lost their loved ones in the Mahakumbh, said the former Chief Minister.
Akhilesh Yadav said that the biggest question was the budget assigned by the Indian government for the MahakumbH.
“Can someone imagine that the chief ministers of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh just decide where the vehicles will be parked. There were a number of IPS officials who prevented people to go for the 'snan' and said they did not have the capacity to facilitate House of House.
“People were stopped at the borders. The center is said to have given a budget for the Maha Kumbh to the government (Uttar Pradesh) – that must be mentioned. At a time when pages of history are played, the biggest loss of lives of Hindu,” he said.
In his comments, Modi said: “We witnessed the enthusiasm and the excitement of the MahakumbH in India for about a month and a half.
“The nectar of unity is the most sacred offer of the Mahakumbh,” he said.
“The Maha Kumbh was such an event in which people from every region and every corner of the country came together. People put their egos aside and gathered in Prayagraj with the feeling of 'we' and not 'me',” he added.
