Ashes: Marnus Labuschagne was evicted on Day 1 in a funny way.© Twitter
Australian Marnus Labuschagne does make headlines for his consistent performance, especially in test match cricket. His mannerisms are sometimes similar to those of his teammate Steve Smith as he lets the balls out of the stump, something that has become a trademark for both batters. Sometimes things don’t go as well as Labuschagne proved on the opening day of the final Ashes Test match to be played in Hobart. The righthander hit great for his 44 runs, but his resignation just before lunch was a moment he would certainly want to forget.
After England shook the home side with three quick wickets in the first session, Labuschagne and Travis Head forged a brilliant attacking partnership to get Australia out of trouble.
Labuschagne brought a balanced play to the middle, attacking and choosing the ball cleverly to defend. However, in an attempt to collect runs on Stuart Broad, Marnus shifted to the off-stump and gave the bowler an open view from the stumps.
Broad, using his experience, threw a fuller length targeting the center and leg stump line the batter made.
While attempting to negotiate the ball, Labuschagne found himself in a tricky tangle and fell to the ground as the ball hit the stumps.

The entire England squad and crowd burst into laughter as Marnus picked himself up off the ground and made the walk to the pavilion, arguably the longest he would have felt in his career.
Australia closed the first session at 85/4 after being put into bat first by English skipper Joe Root.
