The BCCI will ask disgraced senior goalkeeper batter Wriddhiman Saha about the context of his tweet alleging that a journalist had threatened him for not agreeing to give an interview. Saha, 37, who has been expelled from the Indian team, had claimed via Twitter that a “respected” journalist took an aggressive tone after refusing to allow him an interview. Following his tweet, former head coach Ravi Shastri and former stars like Virender Sehwag and Harbhajan Singh backed him and asked him to reveal the journalist’s name.
“Yes, we will ask Wriddhiman about his tweet and what is the real incident that happened. We need to know if he was threatened and also the background and context of his tweet. I cannot say more. The secretary (Jay Shah) will definitely speak to Wriddhiman,” BCCI treasurer Arun Dhumal told PTI on Monday.
Saha, who has played 40 tests for the country, was told after the South Africa tour by head coach Rahul Dravid that the team would be leaving him and that he could make a decision about his career.
Saha had revealed dressing room talks with Dravid but the head coach said “he was not injured” because he respects the cricketer and just wanted to give him a fair and clear picture of his position.

Saha had also claimed that BCCI president Sourav Ganguly texted him to assure he would never be kicked out of the team until he was at the helm of things.
