Bitcoin Drops Below $40,000 to a 5-Month Low

Bitcoin fell more than 5 percent on Monday to its lowest point in more than five months, falling below the $40,000 level.

The largest cryptocurrency fell to $39,558, its lowest since August 5, 2021. It had last fallen 4.7 percent, more than 40 percent below a record high of $69,000 in November.
