Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused the congress of the inns of hatred and anger towards BR Ambedkar during a Rajya Sabha speech on Thursday. The comments arrived less than a day after Congress Member Rahul Gandhi accused the BJP-Rss combination of the Constitution 'attack' and people try to 'Hoodswink people through a show of respect for Dalit icons'.
“It is well documented how much anger and hate congress had against Dr. Baba Saheh Ambedkar. They have never considered Baba Saheh who were worthy of the Bharat Ratna Award … have made all the efforts to beat him twice in Lokha polls. But today they have to do because of the coercion of Jai Bheem Slogans, “he said.
Modi also argued that his government “realized the dreams of Babasaheb Ambedkar via PM Mudra schedule”.
In the meantime, a six-member panel has submitted its probe report on Thursday after the vandalism of an Ambedkar statue on Republic Day. A youth destroyed the life -size statue in Amritsar by climbing on top and beating with a hammer. A video of the incident had become viral on social media and also led to a political word war.
